The main character of the book, Teo, isn't excited about anything; he doesn't enjoy school and spends his time only playing games. However, an unusual adventure awaits him - the magical red train Slovenská strela transports him to the past, to meet Josef, a boy of the same age. But Josef is the complete opposite of Teo - he's active, constantly inventing things, and wants to improve the world with his inventions. The story shows the power of friendship and the importance of dreams and visions. The story of the thirteen-year-old boys is complemented by historical facts elaborated in an "explanatory section," where children will learn about the dramatic events of World War II, important inventions and their creators, including when the first hybrid-powered car ran in our country. The narrative also incorporates the poetics of the Wallachian region, including its remarkable local dialect.

The book is inspired by the life of the forgotten genius Josef Sousedík, who managed to turn his boyhood dreams into reality. He brought the world dozens of patents and died during World War II during a Gestapo interrogation. He was a proud Wallachian and loved his town of Vsetín. From his family home in Horní Město, he often observed the empty meadows by the Bečva River and perhaps dreamed that his factory would one day stand there. Josef Sousedík's vision came true. The successful company has been operating for over a hundred years, and his legacy powers electric motors around the world.
